888sport Sportsbook Review
Launching in 2008, 888sport became the sporting branch of 888 Holdings – a public company based in Gibraltar that originated in 1997. 888sports originally entered the sportsbook arena in the US through Nevada – where it was granted a license by the Nevada Gaming Commission in 2013. In September 2018 it became the seventh online sportsbook to enter the market in New Jersey.
888sport is one of three sportbooks in New Jersey now to be partnered with Kambi – the other two being DraftKings and SugarHouse. This gives them similar features such as cash out. 888 Holdings originally partnered with Kambi in 2013 and recently extended that deal in 2017, with Kambi citing a 5-fold increase in 888’s sport division.
888 Sport like 888 Casino and Poker is affiliated with Caesars, the Atlantic City Casino.

Strengths and Other Features
-
Interface
The 888sport sportsbook site has the same theme as its casino site, replacing neon green with orange. The home page does appear quite busy, with live events and upcoming featured sports cluttered together in widgets all on the one page.
Getting to the sport you need is easy enough, with tabs on both the top and on the side linking you to everything 888sport offers. Once you are in actual event, there is live streaming offered for some events, whilst a live simulation style scoreboard for others. It also presents a general stats overview for some events.
The betslip is an easy to use, clean design, but on desktop users should pin it to avoid it overlapping other markets on the screen.
Guides to betting and current promotions by 888sport are easily identified in the top tabs, and it is not at all for users to find the terms of these promotions. The guides feature everything from registration, to betting definitions and deposit options.
What is also beneficial for users is that the site is integrated with its casino and poker sites, meaning users can quickly go from betting on sports to playing their favourite online casino game.
-
Mobile Capabilities
One disappointing aspect of 888sport is that there is currently only an Android app available for mobile users. 888sport are stating that an iOS app will arrive soon, and they do already have an iOS mobile app for their sportsbook in other areas so it can be assumed that it will arrive in due time.
-
Sports Offered
888sport has a fairly extensive list of sports for users to bet on, and even ventures into the eSports world. They have many sports within the NCAA branch, and a number of the major soccer leagues and tournaments. As they are powered by Kambi, they have a few extra niche sports outside of the US to bet on like DraftKings and SugarHouse, meaning users should be satisfied with their options.
-
Cash Out
888sport has granted users the ability to cash out, following the trend of a number of sportsbooks in New Jersey. The betslip interface makes it very apparent for the user as to whether or not their bet or parlay will be eligible for cash out. As with other sportsbooks utilising this feature, this gives those wagering the opportunity to cut their losses or secure a win by cashing out – which gives the user a return that is in line with the odds at the time of cashing out.
-
Support
888sport has a support centre with detailed guides and FAQs to attempt to answer user questions, however there is still the option to contact 888sport through a form system. It doesn’t appear as though the site offers live support.

The Verdict
A well-known brand, 888sport has entered the sportsbook with a strong but not-yet complete product. It will certainly boost user experience when iOS users are able to use an app instead of being forced to use the desktop site.
Overall the interface is aesthetically pleasing in its design, but from a usability stand-point could do with some cleaning up, particularly in the home page where it’s confusing as to reasoning behind why certain events are being shown in place of others or their order.
Still, this shouldn’t tarnish some of 888sports key strengths; hugely generous and intuitive offers coupled with an enormous array of markets to keep punters satisfied. It also possesses a good amount of banking options, which is always appealing to users.
Giving it is powered by Kambi, its odds and the type of bets you can make are in line with DraftKings and SugarHouse. Therefore for some users it may come down to basics such as the interface and promotions.
Overall, and especially with its impending iOS app, 888sport isn’t simply making up the numbers in New Jersey.
