SugarHouse Sportsbook Summary

Starting as a Philadelphia Casino in September 2010, SugarHouse was named due its location, where a former sugar refinery operated. Six years later in 2016, SugarHouse grew into an online presence, offering its services to neighbouring New Jersey. And just recently, in August 2018 SugarHouse became the third sportsbook provider in New Jersey, after playMGM broke DraftKings brief three-week stranglehold on the market. Powered by Rush Street Interactive and Kambi Group, SugarHouse promises users an integrated casino and sports betting experience. SugarHouse users consequently gain a shared wallet to use on either the casino or to wager on sports.

Strengths and Other Features

  • Interface

SugarHouse’s interface busier at first glance than some of the other sportsbooks, however this can be put down to the fact it forces you to disable Adblocker and also due to the fact the casino is integrated with the Sportsbook. On the right hand side on the desktop site is a rolling ‘newsfeed’ of punters highlighting the biggest bets or casino wins that have got up, which shows how many times more than the bet the winnings were. The bet slip pops up in the bottom right and splits up the slip into singles, parlays and round robins and allows you to pin it to the side.

Though it may look busy the interface overall is straight forward for the user, allowing you to search for any sport they’re looking for, as well as splitting live & upcoming and futures events. The website also allows for users to change the odds format to decimal or fractional from American, which allows them to use the format most familiar to them.

  • Mobile Capabilities

SugarHouse has had an app developed since 2016, given that it entered the online casino industry at that time. Thus as you would expect the Android and iOS apps are highly functional and allow you to perform essentially the same actions as you can on the desktop site. Rush Street Interactive also had prior experience operating a sportsbook app in Colombia, which has made for an easier transition into New Jersey. Given SugarHouse gives users the option to bet on each point in tennis, the use of mobile betting is sure to be a hit.

  • Sports Offered

SugarHouse is one of the leaders in the industry alongside DraftKings as it stands for its widespread sports coverage, with unique sports such as Australian Rules Football available for punters to wager on. Not only does it offer a wide variety of sports, but there are more than enough alternate line and prop markets to keep the most eager punters coming back.

  • Cash Out

Powered by the same software as DraftKings, SugarHouse also features a Cash Out option, allowing for punters to get out of their wager early, either resulting in greater or lesser amounts than their original bet in accordance with the live odds.

  • Rewards Program

Already established for SugarHouse’s online casinos, the iRush Rewards feature allows punters to get points for every wager they make, allowing for both an increase to Loyalty Levels and Bonus Store Points that accumulate until users can trade them in for prizers.

  • Support

SugarHouse offers a live chat and email system, which although isn’t 24/7 is still available from 9:30am to 2am ET. There is also a phone number available for customers to use.

  • The Verdict

Though it may not have the brand strength of some of its competitors that have entered into the market recently, SugarHouse has a highly functional, easy to use website that has an edge in that it integrates both an online casino and sports betting, which is sure to keep users playing their favourite games.

Having already been in the online gambling world in New Jersey since 2016, aspects such as withdrawal and deposit does seem more streamlined with SugarHouse, with a larger amount of options than other sportsbooks in the area.

Immediately one of the most striking aspects of SugarHouse is the enticing bonuses it promises, particularly the new user bonus of $250 matched for the first deposit which is highly generous in the current market.

As with DraftKings, the collection of sports and markets available for bettors to wager on is enormous, which will be sure to force other sportsbooks to lift their games.

SugarHouse’s syncing its online casino and sportsbook gives it an edge few others have, and it makes it an intriguing prospect in the field.
